Signing players on loan deals is a great way to reinforce a team without having to spend big bucks and this is what Tony Mowbray of Coventry City wants to accomplish during this summer. There are a few youth players from the Under-21 development squad of Tottenham Hotspurs that have received the attention of the coach of Coventry City and he will be attempting to sign them on season long loan deals.
Tony Mowbray has been meeting up with the head chiefs of Tottenham discussing the possibility of whether or not signing a few of the younger players can be done.
Grant Ward is one of the players that were in the wish-list of Tony Mowbray. Ward is a 20 year old midfielder who has impressed Mowbray as the youngster played with Coventry City in the last season and helped the English League One club in staying safe away from the bottom relegation zone.
Ward had a contract with Coventry City which expired in this past season but Tony Mowbray wants to keep hold of the youngster and extend his contract for at least another year. Even though Grant Ward is only 20 years old, he has already showed glimpses of brilliance and he was even voted as the fans’ man of the match during a 2-0 victory of Coventry City against Fleetwood which is an impressive accomplishment for such a young player.
